How long can I safely burn my candle at one time?

No more than 4 hours per burn. Avoiding excessive burn time helps the candle perform well and burn safely.
Do I need to trim the wick?

Yes - trim it to 1/4" before every burn. This keeps the flame controlled and the wax burning cleanly, without excess soot.
Why does my candle need to melt all the way to the edge?

On the first burn especially, let the wax pool reach the full edge of the vessel. This prevents tunneling, so your candle burns evenly for its whole life.
What general safety precautions should I follow while burning my candle?

Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects, never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it out of reach of pets and children.
Do I need to remove anything before lighting?

 Yes - remove any dried botanicals or decorative toppers from the wax surface before burning, as they can catch fire.

Wax Melt FAQ

What are your wax melts made from?

Each 75g bag is filled with individually formed wax pebbles made from a clean-burning coconut and rapeseed wax blend. Use as much or as little as you need in your wax burner.
How often should I change the wax?

Change the wax after every 16 hours of burning to keep your warmer performing well and your fragrance fresh.
How long can I leave the wax warmer on at one time?

Where should I place my wax warmer?

Always use it on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping or spills.

Reed Diffuser FAQ

Can I place the diffuser directly on any surface?

No. Always place it on a protective mat, tray, or coaster — accidental spillage can damage furniture and other surfaces.
How often should I flip the reeds?

Every 3–4 days. Flipping the reeds refreshes the scent throw by exposing a new, oil-saturated end to the air.
Where should I use my diffuser?

 Only in well-ventilated areas, to allow the fragrance to circulate safely and prevent oil vapors from concentrating in an enclosed space.
Is the diffuser liquid dangerous?

 The liquid is flammable, so keep it away from open flames, heat sources, and sparks at all times.
What should I do if the oil gets on my skin?

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after any contact with the oil.
Is it safe to keep around pets or children?

No - keep the diffuser and its oil out of reach of pets and children at all times, as the liquid can be harmful if ingested or spilled.

Heat Lamp & Wickless Candle FAQs

What is a wickless candle, and how does it work?

A wickless candle is a fragranced wax candle designed to be used with a heat lamp rather than a flame. The lamp uses a warming bulb positioned above the candle. The heat gently melts the top layer of wax, releasing the fragrance and allowing it to disperse throughout your room without needing to light a wick.
Are wickless candles a good alternative to traditional candles?

They offer a different way to enjoy home fragrance, using heat rather than a burning wick. They're ideal for customers who enjoy the ambience of a lamp and the fragrance of warmed wax without lighting a candle.
How do I use my Thirty 6 Scents wickless candle, and do I light it?

Place your wickless candle underneath the heat lamp on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface. Switch the lamp on and allow the top layer of wax to gradually melt and release its fragrance. Do not light a wickless candle. It is specifically designed to be warmed rather than lit, so never attempt to light the wax with a match or lighter.
Do I need to remove the dried botanicals?

We recommend removing excess dried botanicals before warming your candle. This keeps the surface clear and helps ensure the candle is used as intended.
Where should I position my heat lamp?

Place it on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, water, children, pets and anything that could be affected by heat.
How long can I leave my heat lamp on, and can I leave it on when I'm out?

We recommend 4 hours of use at a time. Never leave your heat lamp and wickless candle unattended. Always switch the lamp off before leaving the room for an extended period or leaving your home.
Does a wickless candle still give a strong fragrance, and can I adjust it?

Yes. Warming the wax releases the fragrance without requiring a flame. The intensity is influenced by the heat setting, room size and fragrance selected. The lamp has a dimmer function, so adjusting its intensity changes how quickly the wax warms and therefore how strongly the fragrance is released.
Why isn't my wickless candle getting smaller, and what do I do when I can no longer smell the fragrance?

Unlike a traditional burning candle, the wax isn't consumed by a flame. Over time, the fragrance within the melted top layer will become weaker even though the wax remains. Once the melted wax has cooled, remove a small amount of the top layer before using your heat lamp again. This allows fresh fragranced wax underneath to be warmed. Always follow the care instructions supplied with your candle.
Can I add water or fragrance oil to the candle?

No. Never add water, fragrance oil or any other liquid to your wickless candle.
Does the wax get hot, and can I move the candle while the wax is melted?

Yes, the wax, candle vessel and surrounding parts of the lamp may become hot during use. Allow everything to cool completely before touching, moving or removing wax. Do not move the candle while the wax is melted. Allow the wax and vessel to cool and solidify completely first.
What should I do if the bulb stops working?

Switch off and unplug the lamp and allow it to cool completely before replacing the bulb. Only use a replacement bulb of the type and wattage specified for your heat lamp.

Are your hand wash and hand lotions suitable for everyday use?

Yes. Our hand care range is designed for everyday use, helping to cleanse, moisturise and leave your hands beautifully fragranced.
How do I use the hand wash and hand lotion?

For the hand wash, apply a small amount to wet hands, work into a lather and rinse thoroughly with clean water. For the hand lotion, massage a small amount into clean, dry hands until fully absorbed. Reapply whenever your hands need a little extra moisture.
Are your hand care products fragranced, and do the fragrances match your candles and diffusers?

Yes. Our hand wash and hand lotions are fragranced with carefully selected scents designed to complement our home fragrance collections. Many of our hand care fragrances are also available across our home fragrance collection, making it easy to coordinate your favourite Thirty 6 Scents scent throughout your home.
Can I buy the hand wash and lotion as a set, and can I mix and match fragrances?

Yes. They can be paired together to create a beautiful hand care set and are also available as part of selected Thirty 6 Scents gift sets. You can choose different fragrances for your hand wash and hand lotion, allowing you to create your own combination.
Are your hand care products vegan and cruelty-free?

What size and type of bottles do you use?

Our hand wash and hand lotion are supplied in 200ml bottles. They are presented in reusable glass bottles, chosen to complement the premium look of our range.
